Our Values

At Autism Unpicked, we are a small friendly team who have a long-standing interest and passion for working with autistic people. Our priority is supporting young people and their families to understand themselves. This includes offering support that meets their individual needs and empowers them to work with their strengths and skills.

It is important to us that we work in a way that is in keeping with our values which are explained further below

We aim to work with integrity and we celebrate difference and individuality, including the range of different ways that neurodivergent brains work.

We work together with people to understand what Autism means for them. This includes acknowledging things that are difficult. Understanding this means recommendations can be made for them to be supported appropriately and the environment can be shaped to support their quality of life.  It also means autistic people and their families can be empowered to learn what works best for them and how they can feel at their best. However, it is also really important to us to celebrate and highlight areas of strength and skill and consider ways to build confidence in these strengths.

We work together with people in a caring, sensitive and compassionate way and ask for feedback to help us to continue to offer a helpful service. We are committed to supporting the wellbeing of autistic people and we keep up to date with understandings of Autism via clinical work, listening to autistic people's views, attending training and conducting and supervising research.

We use standardised assessments in order to ensure we are offering a high-quality, evidence-based service. However, our main priority is people and we adapt our assessments and recommendations because everyone is unique.

We look forward to working together and if you have any questions, please contact us
